For over thirty years Weymouth Museum has been situated in Brewers Quay, a grade II listed Victorian brewery off Hope Square, and it will return there when the current redevelopment of that building is complete. Meanwhile, a temporary museum in St Thomas St. will show a limited display of our collections.
This year we are raising funds to rent a space for the Pop-Up Museum and to run a programme of events and displays. Please help us with a donation using the Donate button at the top of the page.
Weymouth Museum Trust was established in 2010 to manage the museum. The museum is run by volunteers with the aim of collecting, preserving and displaying artefacts relating to the history and cultural heritage of Weymouth.
Within the museum there is a very active Local History Centre, holding a wide range of research materials including original documents, maps, old photographs and postcards, cinema and theatre posters and programmes, electoral registers, and local history reference books. Please contact us if you have an enquiry or if you wish to carry out your own research on the local history collections.
