Weymouth Museum is now entering a new and exciting phase.  Our permanent home in Brewers Quay is being refurbished over the next few years and in the interim we will be preparing for and planning the new museum.

During the next two years the majority of our collection of nearly 20,000 artefacts will be in store. However we are working on the collection to ensure we record as much information on it as possible, clean and conserve items, research their background stories and prepare for the new displays. We’re currently looking for volunteers to research Weymouth’s working history and record people’s memories. 

No previous experience is necessary.  Full training will be given for all roles.  We have a volunteer policy which is below together with an application form. 

This is a really exciting opportunity to get involved with your local museum and we hope to welcome volunteers from all ages and sections of our community.
