This scene from the early 1960s is a reminder that traffic problems in Westham Road are worse than they are today.
The main task seems to be to get a tank transporter along its journey to either Chickerell or Wyke Bridging Camp. Two buses going in opposite directions and cars probably parked on both sides of the road add to the situation.
An interesting scene for the multitude of bystanders.
