This scene dates from after 1948 or shortly thereafter.
In the foreground are the remains of what is believed to be Florinda, a yacht owned by Lillie Langtry, one time mistress of the Prince of Wales (later King Edward Vll)
After the Second World War the vessel was purchased by Cosens and much of the interior woodwork was used to refurbish its paddle steamers.
The fuel barge arrived in Weymouth in 1946 and the small steam driven launch is believed to be Cosens’s diving boat.
In the background is a range of buildings traditionally
associated with harbour activities.
