“ANY COLOUR AS LONG AS IT’S BLACK”

So said Henry Ford.

This scene in Westham Coach Park dates from the late 1930s. It  shows a multitude of black cars, their owners having come to Weymouth in the hope of a pleasant day at the seaside.

Whether they found the experience of trying to get out of the car park, due to the haphazard parking is another matter!

Weymouth Museum has been supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

We have also benefitted from the active support of The Friends of Weymouth Museum.
