This photo from 1934 would cause alarm to Health and Safety minded people. Petrol pump arms across the pavement whilst cars were filled up. Look at the variety of brands served there! Power, Dominion, National Benzole, Esso, Cleveland, Shell and one or two others. All names fairly familiar to yesterday’s motorist, who probably now fills up with anonymous brands at the local superstore.
