Every year the personnel at Weymouth Fire Station would organise a party for children of personnel attached to Weymouth Fire Station and County Headquarters which occupied the same site.
Here is a photo of that event on 17 December 1949 at which the Mayor, Alderman A.P. Burt made an appearance.
The writer as son a of a Headquarters officer attended a number of these in the late 1950s and they were good fun!
Among those attending were the Chief Fire Officer T.A. Varley, his Deputy Tom Clark and Harry Pitman, officer in charge at Weymouth Fire Station.
